Getting to know the Photographer; Erin Duff
Photograph by Elisha Isabelle Design & Photography

I have lived in the Cariboo my entire life where I have married my best friend of 9 years and have had two beautiful children. It wasn't until the birth of children when I took my photography to a whole new level, it made me realize how precious life truley is. There is no better way to capture a moment then to look through a lens and get a different perspective on life. I am passionate when it comes to my work and I love giving people a reason to smile, laugh and cry. With my unique & creative style I will give you compelling images that you will cherish for a lifetime.

I am easy going and relaxed and love to have fun when I photograph. I am open to new ideas from my clients and I will try just about anything to get “The perfect picture”. Hmm.. let me see... I have been soaking wet from the waist down, I have climbed a tree, I have fallen off a tree, I've gone in a boat, rolled in the dirt and layed in Hay (highly allergic to the stuff) all to get the perfect picture.

I will be honest with my clients when I photograph them, if I don't think it looks good chances are you won't either so we correct that from the beginning. I think it is important to be direct and honest with people about what your doing and how you are photographing them as you are taking photos that they along with friends and family are going to look at many times over. I believe you can almost capture ones soul if you look hard enough.
I also believe in the art of simplicity, my goal is to help you celebrate the most precious moments in life with simple, beautifully crafted and uniquely created images. I am a good listener and most importantly I love what I do. Deciding how I am going to process a photo is part of the fun when it comes to editing, I look at the backdrop of the photos, numbr of people, facial expressions etc... When I decide to process in color I love having the color stand out and when I decide to process in B&W I add rich texture and depth to the photo. I like to look at my photos as a work of art and not just a photo.

When you are choosing a photographer its good to ask questions in relation to their equipment. I will tell you now that I have nothing but the best quality of camera and lens's. I shoot with a Nikon D300 and mainly use a 24-70mm f2.8 zoom lens & a 70-200mm f2.8 zoom lens as well as a few specialty lens's.

I once heard a quote and I would like to share it with you, “ Buying a Nikon doesn't make you a photographer. It makes you a Nikon owner.” This is true, research your potential photographer and insure they are right for you.  Be careful if and when you come across a situation where a friend says I have a great camera I will take your photos for free as a wedding gift. I have had couples come back to me and say we should have just hired you but felt bad saying No to so and so. My advice...this is your day and by far the most important so far in your life, so you be the one to decide and don't feel bad about wanting to hire a professional if they are any kind of a friend they will understand. Read my tesitmonials and browse my galleries through and through, and always check my blog as I update it often.

Thankyou and I look forward to our conversation....

Sincerely,
Erin Duff
